The history of females

Once upon a time, there was an island where no carnivore animals lived, only birds and monkeys. At the beginning, the males didn’t know how it was possible that kids came out of females and thought that those females had to be deities. Therefore, the males collected fruit, roots and mushrooms for them all day long while the female monkeys could look after the kids. This went on for a very long time and the whole island lived in peace.
Then one day, one of the females committed a big fault. She loved her male so much that she revealed the secret of life to him. This male wouldn’t have been a problem because he loved his female even more, but he told his mates about it who were not so friendly minded.
A big rumour went through the ranks of males and they felt scandalized and betrayed by their females. From that day on, the males didn’t collect food for their females anymore. Now, the females did not only have to look after the kids but as well collect the food for themselves and for the males too, while the males played in the forest and competed who could ran or climb faster, jump farther or higher. And when the males were tired they lay around lazily. At sunset, they went home to their females and stuffed their stomachs with the food the females had collected all day long.
Apart from playing and competing in climbing, jumping and running the males were not really ambitious, so there was no real development on the island. When it rained, everybody got wet and cold, and when the sun shone high, everybody suffered from heat.
Then one day, one of the females had a great idea while sitting curled up under a vast palm tree to be protected from the rain. “We should build houses!” she said to herself.
When she told the other females, they looked at her in astonishment. Nevertheless, she could explain it to them soon. The only problem was how to assemble the stone and timber material for the construction because the females were not strong enough. Another female began to laugh, “we have to do it very intelligently,” she continued, “why don’t we employ our males?” Now, it was the turn of the others to be astonished. “How to achieve that goal? These males are only ambitious in games and play,” the others replied. “We will organize Olympic games! Who can collect the biggest stones and timber onto the central square?” All females cheered with screams of joy.
In the evening, every female spoke to her male inciting him whether he was a better carrier or stronger than the other males.
The next day, the project was put into action. All the males assembled in the central square and it was announced that the male who could collect the biggest stones and timber till the end of the day should be the king of the day.
When the females came back with food to the square in the evening, they were surprised how much material had been collected, because the whole square was filled with so much material that it was enough for houses for every couple and family. On each pile, a male was sitting visibly exhausted from the competition.
The winner was announced and after dinner, the males soon fell asleep while the females gathered to discuss what the next step should be to achieve the building of houses.
Of course, the stones and timber were mixed up and first had to be selected.
So, the next day, the females proclaimed a new competition: “Who could make the best selection of stone and timber?”
By the evening, the material was so well selected that it was clear what could be used and what not. Again the winner was declared, the males exhausted fell asleep after dinner and the females gathered to make plans what the houses should look like.
The next morning, the competition consisted in piling up the stones in “C”-form. Every male tried to have the best “C” by the evening as tall as himself.
A new competition was about to cover the “C”-s with strong timber, so that every male could have his own throne.
In the evening, the females looked at the males work with delight because they had not thought that their males would be able to achieve such kind of constructions.
Now, the males got a day off and exhausted of the past days of competition lay lazily in the forest not even desiring any kind of play, game or competition.
When they came back to the square, the females had covered the timber roofs with big leaves and invited their males to enter the new houses.
The males were a bit astound and asked themselves whether they had not been used for work but it was a good feeling to sleep in a place protected from sun, rain and wind.
