The father had committed a fault and had to apologize to his children. On his way home, he tried to find an appropriate tale for this occasion.

In the name of god

The monkey god was sitting on his cloud and looked down on his work. He was very satisfied and blew out the smoke of his cigar. A bit of burning ash fell to the ground and inflamed a small forest. Fast he sent some rain to extinct it. He had just succeeded and only some smoke could be seen as the wolf god from the north came by.
“As far as I can see, you are producing natural catastrophes on your playground, aren’t you?” His face was plunged in a big grin wherein the sides of his mouth went from ear to ear. “Me at least, I build big cities, factories, cars, airplanes and churches.” Having said so, their conversation was disturbed by a rocket flying through the cloud they were sitting on.
The panda god from the east appeared behind them. “Hey, guys! Have you seen that? Mine are going to conquer the stars!” The cloud staggered to his side as he sat down and the monkey and wolf had to grab hold on the sides of the cloud in order not to fall off.
The wolf turned to the monkey again, “Couldn’t you send me some raw material and cheap workforce? These animals will be well fed. There are some kinds of work my animals don’t want to do anymore.” The panda touched the monkey’s shoulder in order to make him look at him, “I will build some bridges, roads and railways on your playground and you can send me raw material.” “Don’t listen to him! He only wants power over your territory,” the wolf whispered into the monkey’s ear. The panda seemed to have guessed what the wolf had said to the monkey. “The wolf is a liar,” he shouted, “don’t you remember? For hundreds of years, he captured your subjects to make them slaves working on his plantations and now he doesn’t want them anymore.” “Do you want war?” the wolf shouted at the panda. “I will give the elephants weapons to kill your allies, the lions!”
The wolf and the panda stood opposite each other with gnashing teeth when the monkey left the cloud. For a long time, he had tried to prevent the influence of the wolf and panda on his playground but had not been very successful. He knew as well that it had not been only the wolf capturing his subjects; it had also been himself selling them to the wolf’s people for some pearls made of glass. He had got some temples built for his own comfort and to be praised by his believers, but had not developed his playground at all. Like in old times, he knew that development and education of the animals would destroy their belief in him, the monkey god. On the wolf’s and panda’s playgrounds, these gods were replaced by money. The monkey god still preferred to have a statue in a temple instead of his picture on a banknote or coin. But of course, there were advantages in being praised as the god of money as well. The animals on the wolf’s playground were democratic and created their future themselves, those on the panda’s playground had their dictators to lead them. In both cases, these subjects didn’t complain about any kind of trouble to their gods, the wolf and panda; they elected a new president or chased their dictator. In his case, the monkey god’s, his subjects didn’t dare to blame him for their misfortune. For them, god committing a fault was still unconceivable.

Of course, me, the writer supposes the children reading this tale being adult-minded and able to understand the deeper meaning of it.
