How it all began

Once upon a time, there was a spirit flying around in the great emptiness. He pleased himself by sometimes chasing his own tail or trying to swallow himself.
Then, he had an inspiring idea. He needed a ball. So, he created a ball and kicked and pushed it around. But as it was very dark, he lost it and could not find it again. Having become more intelligent, he invented a fireball. This was much better because, even if he fell asleep from time to time, he could rediscover it. He played with it for a very long time, but then got bored.
One day, he had another idea and created a second ball. That was great because now he could kick one ball and try to aim the other with it. Some time later, he didn’t only want to knock one ball with the other, but also to determine where the second ball should fly to, therefore he invented a black hole where the second ball could disappear. That way, he had created billiards.
However, there was a big nuisance, because the balls having fallen into the hole really disappeared. Therefore, he created many balls of different colours. Now, as he was not really a good player, not every ball fell into the black hole. After a certain time, there were so many balls laying and flying everywhere, that there was a big mess around him.
He thought and thought, and then discovered that there could be a kind of system in how they fly around each other. When he had put the balls in a certain system and ordered them to stay in their circling track, he stepped back a bit and looked at his work. He liked the result. There was always one or two big fireballs in the middle and smaller colourful ones running around them. The more he got into his constructing project, the more he loved it.
Like a little child having created big things, now he went into the details a bit. He discovered that the fireballs only lightened one side of the colourful ones circling around them. He thought and thought and then gave the smaller ones a spin. He was delighted by the result. However, he could not distinguish when one rotation around its own axis was completed, so he kneaded some of the balls and it looked like mountains and valleys.
What fun was it playing around with them all!
Once, he decided that there should be some kind of activity on the colourful ones, so he spat on them and the liquid filled the valleys. Next, he threw some stones into the liquid and ordered them to swim around wherever they wanted. The dry parts were filled with other stones by him, and they began to run around.
Slowly being filled by the ideas of a Michelangelo, his creatures became more and more bizarre. There were already so many of them on the colourful ball that they began to kick and push each other. Some even fought and killed others.
By now, he spent every minute of his time on his project and it got more and more complicated.
There was a certain species, which began to build shelters for themselves and organize their activities.
He was so happy about his work that he danced around in wild frenzy. And so it happened that he was not careful enough and fell in one of his black holes and disappeared. That’s the reason why we have all the mess around everywhere today.
