The simpler the better

Once upon a time, there was a big forest in a valley with high mountains around it and a clearing in the centre. The tree with the finest fruits stood In the middle of the clearing. For a very long time, the two monkeys living in the valley had peacefully lived together and shared the fruits from the tree sometimes meeting in the shadow of it.
However one day, nobody could tell why, the two monkeys reached out for a very sweet looking fruit at the same time and began to quarrel about it. First, they hit, pushed and pulled each other’s hair, then, one took a stick and beat the other and at the end, stones were thrown. Both were very angry and very tired but they promised to continue the fight.
During the night, one of them decided that he needed help and formed a monkey soldier out of clay. “This soldier doesn’t need brains because he only has to fight for me,” he thought.
The next morning, he went to the tree with his reinforcement and the other monkey was rather surprised when he saw the clay soldier. He was even more astonished when he discovered that the clay soldier fought excellently and was much stronger than both monkeys were together.
At night, the beaten monkey produced his own soldier, but not only one, he made two of them.
The next day, he should be the winner of the battle.
This went on for some time until there were around a hundred soldiers on each side filling the whole clearing.
Some kind of new tactics had to be found. So, one of the monkeys had the idea to inject some braveness into his soldiers.
The next day, his soldiers resulted to fight better than those of his opponent did.
In the evening, the other injected judgement into his soldiers and they fought smarter than those of his opponent did and won the battle that day.
Then, they injected intuition and creativity into their soldiers, and after that flexibility.
The soldiers became more and more professional with ability, decisiveness, cleverness, intelligence, empathy and flexibility. However, because of these skills, they partly lost their simple-mindedness, obedience, submissiveness, manageability, indifference and loyalty and very often looked at each other in surprise and were wondering why they were fighting for somebody else. In the end, they chased the two monkey kings and established democracies.
