The father started a new tale that went like this:

The girl who wanted to go to school

Once upon a time, there was a little girl. Her parents were very rich; she had a large room for herself full of toys, many cupboards with a large number of clothes of all colours and for different occasions. Every year for her birthday, she received many expensive gifts. Her patio door opened onto a large and wonderful garden with fountains, a small lake with a bridge, and beautiful flowers.
Every day, teachers came and taught her the different sciences that everyone needed to know. There were languages, natural sciences, history, arts, and playing the piano. Her parents and teachers were very satisfied with her, because she learned quickly and well and showed great interest in her studies. However, of course the teachers were not children. The girl never met other children, so she really didn't know what friendship was.
Around the garden, there was a large wall, so that no one could enter, but neither could she leave.
One day when she was playing in a corner of the garden, she heard children's voices, talking, laughing from the other side of the wall, and tried to imagine what those children were like. The next day, she went there at the same time hoping to hear them again.
Then one day the gardener had forgotten his ladder at one of the trees, and the girl climbed up the wall to take a look.
She saw children playing and laughing. She would have loved to be on the other side. But she also enjoyed being in this spy position. She saw everything but the children outside did not know that someone was looking at them.
Then, from a distance, she heard a boy crying out, "Look up, someone is looking at you from above!" First she withdrew her head, but then looked back onto the other side. Ten eyes were watching her from below.
"Who are you?" they asked. "I live here," said the girl. "Behind this wall?" the children asked, "are you a prisoner?" But just when she wanted to answer, the ladder moved away from the wall.
When she was brought back to her room, she really felt like a prisoner, cut off from the outside world.
From now on, the gardener always paid attention not to leave the ladder in the garden.
But then she started always playing in the corner where she had first heard the children's voices. And when she once again heard the children, she cried out, "Here is the prisoner. Can you hear me?"
The reply came quickly. And after a few seconds, she saw two girls' heads popping up on the edge of the wall. They were standing on the shoulders of three children. They whispered, "We will help you. Come here at the same time tomorrow!"
When she got to the wall the next day, she didn't have to wait long. First, the head of one of the children appeared, and then a ladder was pushed against the wall. She went up and down the other side on another ladder.
The children picked up the two ladders and they all fled together.
When they reached some trees, where no one could see them, they sat down to rest.
"Come to school with us!" suggested the children. Along the way, the girl and the other children told each other about their lifes. They were surprised to hear that the girl had never encountered other children.
When they got to school, the girl sat next to one of her new girlfriends and they began to read, write and count. She did not have any school supplies, but the other children shared everything with her. Of course, she knew much more about science than the other children, but she learned a lot about how to behave in the company of other children.
Then there was a relaxation interval in the schoolyard, and many other children gathered around the girl and asked her many questions. At the end of the break, they returned to the classroom. She had told the other children that she learned to play the piano, so they asked her to play during the music lesson. And while playing the piano, all the other children sang. Even the teacher was very surprised and pleased with her new student.
At the end of the school day, the teacher asked the girl if she would also come the next day, and the girl promised to come.
Her five new friends accompanied her to her home. They promised to meet the next day at the same time and in the same place and go to school together and helped her across the wall to her golden prison.
But when she entered the house, her parents were already waiting for her, because they had searched for her all day. She could only say, "But I want to go to school."
And then she woke up and realized that it had all been a dream and that, in contrary to some children she liked school, she was very happy to go to school every day to learn and meet her friends there.

The children in their bed screamed, "We also like to go to school." The father was very happy and the children quickly fell deeply asleep.
