The modern physicist in the world of Aristotle

He had just given the last lectures for the semester and was preparing for a trip to the country. He was not always satisfied with his students because he felt that they did not understand what he was explaining to them. "If you want to understand the world around you, there is no other way than to learn the laws of nature. These are based on basic knowledge and can be proven by the events in nature." he thought to himself.
He got on the train, got off at the smallest station and only really felt comfortable when he had also left these last houses. Equipped with the walking stick, he enjoyed the freedom of the fresh air. From a distance, a farmer came towards him on a cart. He made an intelligent face, with the mind of a natural boy who with both feet was standing firmly and seemed to be very aware of his surroundings. As they passed, they greeted each other, the farmer not paying attention and one of the wheels on the cart hitting a larger boundary stone. The entire vehicle lifted one-sidedly, causing the coachman to rise from his box and land at the physicist's feet. "God, dam-ed!" it escaped him. "I fell!" The physicist felt that he had to inform him about his scientific error and began: "No, sir! Mother Earth attracted her." "What?" "Yes, yes, sir! If it weren't for the attraction between you and planet Earth, you would have flown up. "Now the rural man looked at him a little in unbelieve. "And your cap," he picked it up and gave it to the coachman, "your cap touched the ground at the same time as you!" "Tell me, you smart guy! Does the earth have as much pain as I do when it collides with me?" The scientist was a person without humour and did not understand the question. After this lesson on the mysterious relationships between nature and its laws, the farmer wanted to get back on his car, but found that the axis was broken. "The thing doesn't work anymore!" he shouted in his anger. "That is not entirely correct!" the scholar started, "the carriage is in constant motion, force is only required to accelerate or change direction." Now the coachman lost his patience, freed the horse from the yoke and sat on it. "Please tell me where there is a hostel for lunch!" "A few kilometres further, in the village. But if you sit down on the cart, it might move there by itself!" and with a loud laugh he rode away.
