Just a little rain
The alarm clock rang but he was already awake,
having gone to bed early the night before. This day was very important to
him. With the help of an old friend, he had a good offer. Apparently nothing
worked without relationships.
He sat up quietly in his bed and looked at the
alarm clock again. Ten minutes had passed, during which he had thought over
the whole conversation once more.
He got up and prepared breakfast, then shaved, a
good but subtle perfume and now his suit, which he had picked up from the
laundry the day before. Tying a tie in front of the mirror was routine for
him. He looked good! - he thought to himself, - fresh and youthful.
The sky showed only a few clouds, everything went
according to his plans; he could take his little refreshment walk on the
shores of the small lake. He strolled slowly, not wanting to hurry to avoid
sweating.
The birds were chirping and a few young dogs were
playing in the meadow. Usually he went up to them to caress them, especially
the small, fluffy one. However, today he only waved to the owner of the dog
who immediately understood the whole situation and wished good luck with his
hand signals.
Actually, he could have taken the bus that
connected the settlement to the city, but then some people would surely have
spoken to him, which would have bothered his thoughts.
Now he turned away from the lake and followed the
newly built bicycle path, which approached the city in an arc in open terrain
far from the country road and reached the first houses after 3 - 4 kilometres.
Suddenly he felt a drop on his forehead. He had
been lost in his thoughts and hadn't noticed that the sky had gone black.
Everything around him was half-dark now.
The first drop had only hit his broad forehead,
but now he felt it on his hands and nose too. The rain was getting stronger,
but there was still a long way to go to the first house.
And then he saw it coming, like a wall of rain.
When he was a child, his uncle once joked that you had to run under the rain
to keep from getting wet. Therefore, he ran, a little later he was at the
door, where he was expected in ten minutes. He looked like a watered poodle,
dripping from all over.
