Loyal or clever
Once upon a time in banana land, there were two
monkey families, the loyals and the clevers.
The father of the loyal family was guard at the
king’s court, as all his ancestors had been. When he came home in the
evening, the whole family came to kiss his hand. He always told his children
to be loyal to the king, to kick downwards at subordinates and kiss the feet
of superiors.
The father of the clever family was an artisan
and very inventive. He always took his children to his workshop or out into
the countryside to show them the wonders of nature.
One day, father clever captured a horse and began
to ride it. He thought it to be a good idea and went to the court to show his
invention to the king. “Your soldiers won’t have to walk anymore and fighting
from the back of a horse is much more effective.” The king saw the ingenuity
of this invention at once and ordered to capture many horses to equip his
whole army.
“This monkey is not as stupid as my guards,” the
king thought, “however; he won’t be as loyal as my guards. He is dangerous
for my kingdom, I must make him disappear.” Therefore, the king sent the
clever monkey on an impossible mission from where he never returned.
Many years later, a revolution took place and the
king overthrown. A new regime was established by generals. However, whom
should the soldiers swear an oath on now? Therefore, the generals invented
nationalism. The king was replaced by nationalism.
The eldest son of the loyal family immediately
saw his chance and joined the new guards at the generals. When he came home
in the evening, the whole family came to kiss his hand. He always told his
children to be loyal to the regime, to kick downwards at subordinates and
kiss the feet of superiors.
The eldest son of the clever family was an artisan
and very inventive. He always took his children to his workshop or out into

“This monkey is not as stupid as our guards,” the
generals thought, “however; he won’t be as loyal as our guards. He is
dangerous for our regime, We must make him disappear.” Therefore, the
generals sentenced the clever monkey for treason and put him in prison.
Many years later, a revolution took place and the
generals overthrown. A new regime was established by artisans. However, what
should the soldiers swear an oath on now? Therefore, nationalism was replaced
by “We are the people”.

“We are the people”-s banished him from the country.

the DNA of Christian culture”. However, what should the soldiers swear an oath
on now? Therefore, “We are the people” was replaced by “We are the DNA of
Christian culture”.

culture”. When he came home in the evening, the whole family came to kiss his
hand. He always told his children to be loyal to “We are the DNA of Christian

Nowadays the eldest of the loyal family joins a
multinational company trying to get to the top.
