mask Once upon a time, there was a big realm and its monkey king was the lord over many valleys. He had many servants and everybody fell to ground in front of his feet and praised him. It was best to be good friend of the king to climb higher on the ladder of society. However, not all wanted to lick his feet but tried to develop their own skills. One of the young monkeys experimented on a special mask, which could not be noticed by others but changed the face entirely. First, he tried it in presence of his friends and neighbours. It worked perfectly well and he began to climb up the ladder of society until he replaced the king becoming the head of the realm. As having come from a poor background, he didn’t behave as snootily as his predecessors did. However, he could not really change the structure of society because on one hand, the monkeys were too much accustomed to be told what to do and on the other hand, he enjoyed being praised as a godkind king himself. He had a very intelligent daughter being the only, who dared to contradict him. She fell in love with a young monkey but her father didn’t want her to marry him. One day however, the young female discovered the secret of her father. She knew that she couldn’t just use the mask as her father did because he would have noticed that something was wrong. Therefore, she experimented a lot and improved it. After having successfully tried it on her closer environment, she stepped in front of her father in his court and got married to the young monkey loved by her. Of course, her father was terribly angry when he discovered that he had been fooled by his own daughter but he couldn’t do anything because he would have had to reveal his secret to everybody to unmask her. She was aware that her father was not the worst monkey but that he did enjoy power. Therefore, she began to teach the new technic to others. Of course, some of her trainees took advantage of their knowledge but after many generations, the monkeys learned how to behave in a social way. Continue with tale 44!
